Katherine Marie Maglione was born and raised in Commack, Long Island, NY. While growing up, Katherine was always attracted to the arts and the creative process. She would draw wedding dresses, paint local landscapes, and take the creative route for every school project throughout her childhood. In high school, Katherine began to further explore and expand her artistic talents. She attributes her growing success in the arts to her supportive parents, family and friends, and the encouraging arts staff at Commack High School. Katherine has always been an advocate for the arts and hopes to one day inspire young children to immerse themselves in the arts as her teachers and professors have done for her.

The natural beauty of the Hudson Valley and college experiences at New Paltz are the driving forces for Katherine’s creative exploration. She delves into varying landscapes and landscape painting styles to evoke different types of feelings from the viewer. Katherine is influenced by the serenity of nature that surrounds us and by the impact it has on our lives and memories. Her works focuses on recapturing viewers’ consciousness at specific places, times, and thoughts throughout their lives. Katherine enjoys using oil paint as a medium to allow for a fluid expression of her personal impressions and how these places make her feel.
